Interactive Media Technician
We are inviting applications for this exciting new role in the Department of Media Arts’ technical support team to facilitate growth and diversity in the range of creative options we offer across our degree programmes.
You will take a leading role in developing technical support for courses examining digital and interactive culture, including delivering practical skills training, offering advisory support, and assisting students with developing their creative skills using a range of media technologies.
Your professional/practice knowledge is likely to include a degree in the areas of digital arts, interactive communication or interactive design, including recent training and certification in using and supporting relevant applications. Students will expect you to be able to give advice about using mobile devices to create content, transcoding methods, audio visual data compression, how to publish audio visual content on the web, and social media analytics.
You will also be expected to assist in supporting our own LAN, which serves forty Mac workstations in our media labs and post-production suites, and be able to give effective advisory support to students operating a number of market-leading professional creative applications. This also means being proactive in your own skills development in order to keep up to date with changing demands.
