Mid-Senior Digital Designer

  • Full time/Permanent. 37.5 hours a week. 9am - 5pm
  • Salary: £23,000 - £25,000 DOE
  • Birmingham, City Centre near New Street Train Station

Role: We are looking for a creative digital designer to lead the design team within our talented and diverse agency. This is a perfect opportunity for a self-driven designer who is passionate about creating unique digital experiences and settles for nothing less than consistently delivering exceptional work.


  • Understand and formulate complex project briefs
  • Design websites, apps and system interfaces to project schedule
  • Create and maintain design assets and resources
  • Attend and play an active part in client meetings where required
  • Quality check work once it moves through the development process
  • Advise the development team on meeting design requirements where necessary
  • Actively seek out new products and maintain cutting edge industry knowledge
  • Lead and drive the design team forward

The ideal candidate will need to be experienced in working entirely independently and capable of leading a team. In this role, motivation and organisation is critical. You will be working directly with big brands across a range of industries and be expected to deliver creative concepts and designs from start to finish within the project schedule. Experience must include work within a creative digital environment producing primarily website designs alongside complementary print media.

To apply for this role you should:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years design experience within a digital agency ideally
  • Be technically competent in: InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator
  • Be able to learn new skills quickly and where necessary, independently
  • Be able to apply style guides creatively whilst upholding brand assets
  • Want to pro-actively drive quality and new ideas

Your portfolio should demonstrate:

  • Strong understanding of digital landscape and limitations
  • A clear understanding of business and the commercial landscape
  • Clear use of composition and application of visual assets
  • Understanding of brand consistency, values and USP's
  • Excellent use of typography

Bonus points:

  • Portfolio items for user interface design
  • Good understanding of UX research
  • Basic understanding of front end development (HTML, CSS)
  • Broad thinking with the ability to offer a variety of solutions
