C# Developer needed to join a 3 strong development team within a business at the absolute forefront of their industry. Based in central Bristol, they’re a company that encourages contribution and collaboration between everyone. Founded in 2009, they’ve recently been acquired by a parent company that’s looking to focus the vast majority of their growth and funding into this business. It’s a really exciting time for the business as a whole and their software is already used by 90% + of the market within the US.

What experience you'll need

The primary skill set for this role will be based around C# / .Net. Other essential tech for the position is strong experience with HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery and CSS. The rest of the team are focussed on C++ so a basic level of understanding at minimum will be necessary. WCF and web services experience is beneficial, as well as experience with Persistence Frameworks (Nhibernate). SOAP, SQL, Scripting languages (Python), build systems (Jenkins) and cloud hosting (AWS, Azure) are all skills that would be a huge bonus.  

What you'll be doing

The role itself is varied day-to-day deliberately as the team uses shared areas of responsibility to complete tasks. You will be developing their C#-based server application and managing a SQL database, as well as a persistence framework. You will be tasked with maintaining a SOAP API using WCF as well as an HTML5 web front-end. You’ll also be responsible for service deployment on cloud platforms, currently focussed around Microsoft Azure and Amazon EC2.
