Overview:

We are one of the UK's leading music instrument retailers looking to a talented C# .Net Developer to strengthen our technology division in Glasgow, UK. This is the ideal role for an enthusiastic person with strong web development skills to play a key role.

The ideal candidate would have a solid experience of developing websites using ASP .NET / MVC / C# and enjoy expanding their knowledge on the job. They must have a portfolio demonstrating previous design and development work across the private or public sector.

Junior C# Developer Key Responsibilities:

Contribute in designing & developing our e-commerce platform, with intuitive functionality for our online customers

Work closely with our internal strategic teams to develop tools to improve the efficiency & effectiveness of our business

Contribute to key development decisions within the company

The successful Junior C# Developer will have the following skills and experience:

> Solid commercial web development experience
> Knowledge of ASP.NET (MVC), Entity Framework, C#, SQL, Javascript, JQuery, AJAX ,CSS
> Good understanding of front end development across multiple browsers and mobile
> A working knowledge of web services
> Be able to work as part of a team and to demonstrate excellent communication skills
> Ability to adopt an MVC methodology with an understanding of scalable and reusable code
> The ability to work independently and be capable of visualising alternate solutions and make educated decisions
> Be able to participate in project reviews and evaluations, giving feedback, ideas and concepts in support of the company’s development
> Good experience championing good web design practices and secure code

Desirable Skills:

> Knowledge of search engine optimization techniques
> Knowledge of Umbraco or Nopcommerce
> An up-to-date knowledge of CSS3 and HTML5
> Strong graphical design skills desirable but not essential
> A computer science degree, college diploma, or similar is preferred but not required if the candidate can demonstrate equivalent commercial experience
