Digital Marketing Executive - Maternity Cover

Vibrant, energetic and self-motivated digital marketing executive required to provide maternity cover in a friendly and busy marketing team based in Putney. This varied role will work closely with the marketing manager enhancing the firm’s overall online visibility by maintaining and editing the firm’s website content, handling SEO, as well as developing the firm’s social media strategy.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to make your mark. It suits someone who enjoys being part of a team and is comfortable with taking the lead.

You will need a good eye for detail and a keen interest in communication. The website is a key tool in the marketing strategy and keeping content appropriate and up to date is a priority. You will be responsible for the day to day management of the website, PPC and SEO, for analysing and recommending ways of improving SEO results, focusing on how to improve website traffic, and researching new and innovative ways of improving content. In addition to individual projects, you will be expected to provide general marketing support where needed.

This is an exciting time to join the marketing team with many interesting projects in the pipeline including developing a new digital strategy, revamping the social media strategy, reaffirming the brand identity and using CRM data to drive campaigns.

As the team’s digital specialist you will have the support and freedom to identify and run digital campaigns as well as offer strategic direction to the firm.

Areas of work and responsibilities


  • Maintaining and developing the firm's website via a content management system (UMBRACO)
  • Assisting with writing, proofreading and sense checking copy for online use
  • Managing the firm’s presence on related websites
  • Coordinating the firm’s relationship with its website and SEO agencies
  • Taking charge of website SEO (search engine optimisation)
  • Reviewing and reporting on digital marketing initiatives

Online communications

  • Producing, editing and formatting e-updates, newsletters, invitations and other online client communications
  • Distributing online communications using e-marketing tools
  • Managing the firm’s social media presence and marketing strategy, focusing on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn etc.
  • Executing all social media activities (i.e. tweeting, sharing, engaging, liking, increasing social reach, etc.)


  • Use of a website content management system (for example UMBRACO)
  • Experience in writing/proofreading copy for an online environment
  • A keen interest in web analysis with the ability to improve conversion and response rates
  • Technically/digitally savvy with strong knowledge/passion for digital and social media marketing
  • Excellent understanding of SEO (search engine optimisation), Google Analytics and how links drive performance
  • Experience of managing external suppliers
  • Strong numerical skills with good knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including templates, mail merging and excel manipulation

Work experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant marketing experience, either in-house or an agency. Professional services experience is essential, legal sector preferable
