PHP Developer
This is a brilliant opportunity for a Support Developer with a strong customer service focus to join a specialist digital design and build company based in the centre of Bath. Are you an application support engineer with a variety of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and excellent customer support abilities?  Perhaps you can code in PHP but looking to work alongside developers to better your skills or maybe you enjoy a fast-paced support role and have a passionate for development?  If so then this is definitely the role for you.

What experience you’ll need

It is essential you are conversant and comfortable coding in PHP, as well as HTML /CSS.  You’ll play a key role in identifying bugs in the software and raising quality standards. In this role you’ll be responsible for ensuring that products and services are running smoothly and also offering support and training internally to our delivery and client services teams. There are now over 20 devs so you’ll be helping to make everything run smoothly, as well as knowing the eCommerce platform from the inside out. You will need to be able to problem solve quickly and efficiently, sometimes requiring some outside of the box thinking.

What you’ll be doing

Within you’ll be taking charge of support issues for their technical platform (developed in PHP), which provides the backbone to multiple client websites where you’ll be the go to person to remedy queries, amending code and ensuring the quality of the platform is maintained at all times.  You’ll ensure issues that are passed to you are investigated promptly and appropriate action is taken, investigating them and resolving, rejecting or escalating as appropriate. Essentially you’ll be taking ownership of the platforms success, managing ad hoc projects as required.  You will also help to manage enhancement requests, bug reports and other work requests, whilst ensuring that the pipeline of work is being worked on to advance its progress.

What you’ll get in return for your talents

In return you will be able to improve your technical PHP coding skills, learn new skills with a possible progression route towards application development or technical project management in the future.  There’s a great fun working environment on offer with pool tables, free fruit/drinks, socials etc and you’ll be working alongside the experienced development team on a world class product and some fantastic projects.
