Our Digital Communications Manager (SEO & Publishing) takes lead responsibility for all content on ofgem.gov.uk, ensuring publishing is timely and accurate, and that it meets user needs. This involves managing the publication of thousands of documents and data sets each year, so it’s important that the material is uploaded to the right place and that all content is tagged appropriately. The role also oversees training and support for over 80 devolved content publishers across the organisation. Managing a small team of two Digital Communications Officers, you’ll lead on the delivery of all content change projects on the website, from single page additions to more complex updates to the information architecture.
It’s a role that demands previous experience in website governance, with a requirement to manage large volumes of digital content. You should be highly experienced in managing publishing using content management processes, and a full range of CMS functionality (a basic understanding of HTML is also required). A practical understanding of how to evaluate site performance against KPIs is essential. You should also have a highly developed understanding of how to produce content that meets user needs, including the key criteria of plain English, SEO and digital accessibility standards.
