This company have a genuinely lovely back story, focusing on bringing about positive change through volunteering. Having been running for the past 25 years, they are now looking to further grow and develop, starting with building a new marketing team based in Brighton.

This is a very rare opportunity to work for a well-known charitable company, giving you the chance to bring about positive change through your expertise. Joining the team as a Community Manager, your main duty will be to build and maintain the company’s alumni network. Specifically, you will be responsible for the conversion of alumni to volunteer re-applications, and nurturing and growing an active and enthusiastic global alumni community.

What you’ll be doing

Working alongside the Digital Marketing Manager, you will develop a strategy and roadmap for growing the company’s alumni community. The alumni community is very important to the company, as they help encourage others to volunteer and offer support and advice.

You will take responsibility for the implementation and success of the growth strategy and roadmap for the alumni community. You will ensure that each department is using best practice when it comes to processing, contacting and utilizing alumni, and will also be providing alumni network training to staff. You will moreover manage an alumni communication schedule and ensure that materials are developed and sent out on time.

One very exciting part of the role is you will occasionally take part in familiarisation visits to new or current projects across the world  in order to gain information and actual experience that can help promote company programs.

What experience you’ll need
  • Experienced volunteering with a charity/NGO.
  • Experience in community management, especially online.
  • Social media prowess. 
  • Event management experience.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and the Internet.
  • Outgoing and energetic.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Enjoy working with people from all over the world, and be enthusiastic about collaborating across cultures.
