Description

The core responsibility of the Online Trading Manager is to drive and deliver sales through both the UK and Irish websites. They will work closely with the Marketing and Sales teams to define the trading and promotional plan, using data-led insights to determine the optimum customer journey and identifying messaging that delivers commercially. They will ensure promotional activity is well executed and will analyse performance to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.

The successful candidate will be able to use their experience to challenge current practices and processes, and continually strive to improve.

Responsibilities for the Online Trading Manager;

  • Driving sales and profit through strategic trading across both websites in UK&I.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales and Leadership teams to formulate seasonal sales plans, driving category and product opportunities and optimising site conversion.
  • Optimisation of the customer journey and user experience, challenging and testing navigation, display and browsing functionality to maximise product visibility and sales performance.
  • Using web analytics tools such as GA and Hotjar to analyse the performance of digital content and suggesting changes where necessary. Helping to drive out ideal templates and approaches to user experience.
  • Reporting on sales and online KPI performance alongside the Marketing manager, providing analysis and insight to enable data-driven decision making and ensure the right promotional mechanics and customer messaging are used at the right time, alongside retrospective analysis of the effectiveness of promotions.
  • Monitor competitor promotional activity and traffic market share to understand the impact of the competitive landscape and wider market trends.
  • Drive AOV and CR through optimisation of product cross-sells & up-sells.
  • Identifying and driving areas of potential development for the eCommerce strategy such as user experience, mobile developments, delivery and returns proposition.
  • Overseeing A/B testing of the site and the results driven out. Helping shape the roadmap for future tests.
  • Manage the setup and execution of promotional offers, working closely with Marketing and Sales teams to identify key messages and products to feature across the marketing channels.
  • Co-ordinate with PPC team to manage digital product promotion and profitability.
  • Working with Creative and Marketing teams to deliver inspiring and engaging content to the customer throughout all touchpoints. Ensuring all key product and category stories are being communicated and sales maximised.
  • Working with Customer Service teams - ensuring they are aware of all trading activity and also reviewing customer feedback. Driving changes on site in response to any issues raised.

Requirements for the Online Trading Manager:

  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • 5+ years of eCommerce experience
  • Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, pressurised environment
  • Excellent commercial acumen and an eye for an opportunity, alongside good analytical and numerical skills
  • Comfortable handling large data sets and drawing conclusions from data, with a good eye for detail
  • Google Analytics or a similar web analytics tool
  • Shopify experience an advantage but not essential
  • HTML/CSS experience
  • MS Office, especially Excel

Desired experience & interests

  • Power BI, Zoho, Zapier, Odoo, Datastudio
  • Python programming
  • Interest in sustainability
